Over £12m of central government grant funding is now available for Surrey residents to make home improvements relating to heating. This funding aims to support off-gas households improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Residents living in ‘off-gas’, hard to heat homes could receive up to £38,000 to fund measures that; improve insulation (including wall, loft and underfloor), install solar PV, solar thermal or air source heat pumps.
To be considered for the scheme properties must have an EPC rating of D-G, (an EPC assessment will be carried out free of charge as part of the initial proposal). Homes must also be heated primarily by a source other than gas.
Residents will also need to meet financial eligibility criteria. This funding is limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.
The scheme offers a great opportunity, at no cost to the homeowner to make their home more energy and cost efficient and has great potential to prevent carbon emissions associated with heating homes across Surrey.
