Charity Cricket Match

I would like to say a huge thank you to all at Reigate Priory Cricket Club, and my cricketing colleagues from the Lords and Commons Cricket Team for their support at yesterday's 30 over match at Priory Park Cricket Club.

This charity event was arranged to mark both my 60th birthday and my recently achieved milestone of becoming the longest-serving MP for Reigate since the Great Reform Act.

Charity donations raised at the event will go to the PPROM (preventing pre-labour rupture of the membrane) which conducts research into this medical condition. Guy Opperman, MP for Hexham, and member of the Lords and Commons team, and his wife Flora recently lost two baby boys in childbirth due to PPROM and have set up the charity in memory of their baby boys Teddy and Rafe,

I am sorry to say that the Lords and Commons team were beaten by the Reigate Priory XI, but it was a great game at a beautiful cricket ground played under strict social distancing and hygiene rules.
