For people with heart and circulatory conditions - Coronavirus message from the Chief Executive of the British Heart Foundation
Here at the British Heart Foundation (BHF), people affected by heart and circulatory conditions are at the centre of everything we do, and our response to the current coronavirus crisis is no different.
People with heart or circulatory conditions are at high risk from coronavirus, and we are acutely aware that you may have constituents who are concerned about how Covid-19 could impact their conditions or their daily lives.
So, I wanted to share some information. We know that Google and social media can be a scary place, so our medical teams have been working tirelessly to digest the guidance being published and create easily accessible content for those that need it.
I have included some links below that may be of particular benefit:
- Coronavirus: what it means for you if you have heart or circulatory disease
- How to keep healthy while you're self-isolating
- Coronavirus: Which news stories can you trust?
- What’s the difference between self-isolation, social distancing and shielding?
- Does having congenital heart disease mean I am at high risk from coronavirus?
We are updating our web pages at https://www.bhf.org.uk/ as further guidance is issued, so please do feel free to signpost constituents towards this content and consider including this information on your own website or social media in case your constituents are looking for information there.
