Crispin Blunt has today welcomed the Rail Minister Claire Perry’s comprehensive follow up to the series of issues raised by him and other MPs on the Southern Rail franchise route in a recent adjournment debate.
Responding to the Rail Minister’s letter, Mr Blunt said: “Southern Rail’s performance has been consistently unacceptable: trains too often delayed, too often overcrowded and always too expensive. The adjournment debate held earlier this month laid bare these persistent failings and the plight of many of my constituents. The Rail Minister has taken this all on board and I am glad she has responded so thoroughly. Much needed improvements in services remain required as does a fairer deal for fare payers.”
